The .au service status website provides a live feed of the availability of .au domain name system (DNS) and registry services. This includes:
.au DNS services
* Four .au DNS nameservers, which are globally distributed servers that respond to .au DNS queries
* The .au DNS Security Extension (DNSSEC) signing system, which facilitates the digital signing of DNS records, helping ensure the authenticity of information on the .au DNS
.au domain name registry services
* The EPP Interface, which enables .au registrars to access and update the .au registry
* The .au web portal, used by .au registrars
* The .au WHOIS lookup tool, which enables the public to check selected .au registry information such as the registration status of .au domain names.
Maintenance notices are published to the site ahead of scheduled maintenance windows and the site provides a historical log of downtime on any of the services.
Members of the public can subscribe to updates to receive an email notification when there is scheduled maintenance or the services experience unscheduled downtime.
